Few days back, Meteorologists at Skymet Weather predicted a Western Disturbance to affect the parts of Jammu and Kashmir. The time has now come and a fresh Western Disturbance is seen over North Pakistan and adjoining areas.
Due to this weather system, inhabitants of Jammu and Kashmir will start experiencing intermittent rains by today which shall continue till October 10. With this, the region would witness a dip in temperature by 2-3 degree- Celsius.
There is a possibility of snowfall in upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, while the parts of Himachal Pradesh will experience light rains because of the same weather system.
The intensity of rains will not be much, thus, posing no danger for the pilgrims. The weather will be cool and pleasant. However, temperatures at Vaishno Devi Bhawan will be lower than the plains.
Plains of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will remain dry with clear sky. Talking about the hilly areas, day temperature will be in the range of low to mid 20s and night temperature will be somewhere between 11-15 degree- Celsius. This seems like an ideal time for travelers to visit the hills. Pleasant and comfortable weather is what we need for a good vacation.
Chances of snowfall increases when there’s a possibility of strong Western Disturbance which is not prevalent as of now. No such major snowfall activity is foreseen till the end of this month.
