Rain in Jaisalmer, Bikaner; warm weather to persist

The beautiful state of Rajasthan is famous for its palaces and epic forts but what comes first in mind is the hot weather which persists throughout the year almost all over the state.

Particularly, West Rajasthan remains hot and dry due to the presence of Aravalli hills which is a hurdle for Monsoon, resulting into low intensity rainfall.

Also, the Western Disturbance takes mostly the northerly path causing non-monsoonal precipitation pattern over north-eastern states. Hence, the state of Rajasthan hardly experiences any winter conditions as compared to its neighbouring states.

Further, in the absence of any induced system such as low- pressure or any prominent cyclonic circulation, the rain intensity in the state also remains generally low.

At present, a Western Disturbance having induced system such as cyclonic circulation is moving towards West Rajasthan, as a result of which light- isolated rains are occurring over Jaisalmer and Bikaner.

In the coming days, this cyclonic circulation will slowly shift towards East Rajasthan thereby resulting into cloud formation followed by light patchy short rains over Jaipur and Ajmer.

As this shift happens vacating West Rajasthan, the maximums in Rajasthan will gradually rise while minimums will consequently fall. Moreover, if reverse wind pattern sets in, the maximums will drop while minimums will tend to rise over East Rajasthan.
