During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rains occurred over Odisha Coast and moderate rains were witnessed over Chhattisgarh. In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Saturday, Sambalpur recorded 45.4 mm of rain, followed by Paradip 41.7 mm, Jharsuguda 25.3 mm, Angul 21.6 mm, Bhubaneshwar 14.8 mm, Bhawanipatna 6.6 mm, Balasore 5.6 mm, Cuttack 8 mm, Rajnandgaon 18 mm, Goalpara 3.2 mm, Jagdalpur 1.6 mm, Pendra 1.4 mm, Bilaspur 0.8 mm and Raipur 0.2 mm.

Now, a low-pressure is over Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha and West Bengal Coast, this system will move further west/northwestwards. Due to presence of this system the sky conditions will remain cloudy to overcast over Odisha and Chhattisgarh, which will be resulting moderate rain over many places.

Places like Bhubaneshwar, Jharsuguda, Cuttack, Angul, Titlagarh, Phulbani, Bhawanipatna, Pendra, Raipur, Durg, Jagdalpur, Bastar, Bijapur will receive moderate rains during next 48 hours, thereafter rain intensity will decrease.

During the last 24 hours, moderate rains occurred along the Odisha Coast, and scattered light rains were witnessed over rest all other parts of Odisha. While many places in Chhattisgarh received scattered rains with heavy spells such as, Ambikapur recorded 71.6 mm of rain.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Bhubaneshwar 18.4 mm, Cuttack 12 mm, Balasore 7. 4mm, Chandabali 7.3 mm, Angul 4.6 mm, Jharsuguda 2.6 mm, Goalpara 2.2 mm, Jagdalpur 1.8 mm.

Now the cyclonic circulation over Chhattisgarh has developed into low-pressure. This system is lifting southwestwards with height. Another cyclonic circulation is seen over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha Coast and is likely to strengthen further during the next 24 hours.

Due to all these weather systems, rainfall activity would enhance over Odisha and will continue for next couple of day.

Chhattisgarh as well will continue with moderate rains and isolated heavy spells. During next 24 hours, activity will increase over the area. Good rains are expected mostly over southern parts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Places like Jagdalpur, Bastar, Raigarh, Goalpara, Cuttack, Phulbani will receive moderate to heavy rains. Moderate lightning strike is also possible over parts of these regions.
