In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Seoni recorded 35 mm of rains followed by Hoshangabad at 27 mm, Raisen 12 mm, Malanjkhand 9 mm, Pendra Road 2 mm, Umaria and Damoh 1 mm of rains. In the same time frame, Indore, Betul, and Chhindwara too observed few drops of rains.

According to Skymet Weather, a trough is extending across East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Therefore, we expect light to moderate rain and thundershowers to continue over East and South East Madhya Pradesh as well as over Chhattisgarh. In fact, the intensity of rains will be more over South Chhattisgarh.

Districts such as Raisen, Jabalpur, Bhopal, Indore, Chhindwara, Seoni, Malanjhkand, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Jagdalpur and Pendra road are likely to witness rainfall activity. These rains would continue during the next 24 to 48 hours. Thereafter, the rain intensity may reduce but the weather would not go dry completely.

As per Skymet Weather, Monsoon has yet not made an onset over Madhya Pradesh. However, on and off rains will continue over the state until June 24. Thereafter, we expect intensity and spread of rains over Madhya Pradesh as well as Chhattisgarh to increase. Thus, it is anticipated that Monsoon will make an onset over East Madhya Pradesh and would cover remaining parts of Chhattisgarh around June 26.

Despite these rains, the weather will continue to remain warm over most parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
