Coastal Andhra Pradesh witnessed light rain along with one or two moderate spells in the state of Telangana during the last 24 hours. For instance, Hyderabad recorded 11 mm of rains, Adilabad 8 mm and Kakinada a mere 2 mm.

Now, a trough is extending along the east coast from South Coastal Odisha up to Tamil Nadu. Due to the impact of this weather feature, light to moderate rain is possible at several places of Coastal Andhra Pradesh as well as isolated pockets of Rayalaseema.
For the time being, the southern districts of Telangana would too rejoice few spells of rains.
Places like Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar, Hyderabad and Khammam may see scattered rain and thundershowers. In the same way, Visakhapatnam, Nellore, Kakinada and Prakasam would witness light to moderate showers. There are also chances of isolated rain in Kurnool, Anantapur and Cuddappah.
These rains are expected to at least persist during the next 48 hours. Thereafter, the intensity of showers would reduce but isolated rainfall activity may still continue. Thus, it could be said that the weather is not expected to go absolutely dry for some time.
As of September 24, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have seen normal rains against Rayalaseema that is quite deficient with -36%.
