Hot weather has been ruling Hyderabad from past many days. The temperatures have been settling close to or beyond the 40-degree mark during the entire April continuing until May as well.
Only at once occasion had the city observed hefty showers of 61 mm on May 9. After that only light traces of rains were recorded by Hyderabad. However, some rains are likely to commence over the city in the next 24 hours that could bring a brief relief to the residents of Hyderabad.
In the next 2-3 days, isolated rain and thundershowers are expected over Hyderabad and Telangana. Though the rain intensity will be light in nature and will last for a short duration only. However, even with these showers, not much respite from the rising mercury and humidity levels is expected.
As per Skymet Weather, a trough is passing via coastal Andhra Pradesh to Tamil Nadu, therefore the intensity of rains will be more over the coastal regions but Telangana including the capital city Hyderabad will have to gratify with a few short spells only.
A short-term relief during the pre-Monsoon season is still expected. On Monday, the maximums in Hyderabad settled at around 39°C which was almost near its normal notch of 40°C. Even now, the temperatures are likely to continue to remain above normal. In fact, only a marginal rise in temperatures is expected.
Skymet Weather further reiterates that humid weather is likely to continue for the next 2-3 days.
