The state of Telangana has seen isolated rains in the last 24 hours. The city of Hyderabad also recorded a mm of rains during this time frame.

Now, rains will gradually increase and cover many parts of Telangana including Hyderabad in the coming three days or so. Today, scattered light rains will be seen over some parts of Telangana along with the city of Hyderabad.

These rains will be attributed to a confluence zone, which is basically merging of southwesterly winds from Arabian Sea with southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal. The merging of winds is instrumental for cloud formation and subsequent rainfall.

By January 1, rains will increase, and a couple of intense spells may also be seen. Moreover, many parts of Telangana will see these unseasonal rains. Rains are expected to continue until January 3, however, by that time, there is likely to be significant decrease in rainfall activities and the persisting confluence zone will fade away from Telangana.

Also, minimum temperatures are expected to increase in parts of Telangana by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the coming days, while maximums will subside due to rains and cloud cover. From January 4, weather activities will start to clear up and minimums will once again fall in Telangana.
