Updated January 28, 2018: More rain in Hyderabad, Telangana today, crop damage likely
The ongoing spell of rain and thundershowers is yet not over for Telangana including the capital city of Hyderabad. Weathermen are predicting more rains for the state for another 24 hours, although with reducing trend.
In span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Nalgonda 49 mm, Khammam 36 mm, Mehbubnagar 21 mm, Rentachintala 20 mm, Hanamkonda 2 mm and Hyderabad 1 mm.
According to Skymet Weather, the prevailing north-south trough running from North Chhattisgarh to Karnataka across Telangana. is now shifting to east towards Andhra Pradesh. However, it would still be able to give light to moderate rains for the next 24 hours, but showers would be confined to southern parts of the state only that include Hyderabad, Nalgonda, Khammam, Mehbubnagar and Rangareddy.

Updated on January 27, 2019: Rain in Hyderabad, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh to continue for next 24 hours
Last 48 hours have been observing light to moderate rain and thundershower activities with strong winds at many places of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana including capital city of Hyderabad.
In the span of last 24 hours, Hanamkonda has recorded 23 mm of rainfall, followed by Ramagundam 14.9 mm and Hyderabad 10.1 mm.
According to Skymet Weather, an upper air Cyclonic Circulation is present over eastern parts of Vidarbha and adjoining region in the lower Troposphere. In addition to this system, an upper air trough is extending from Jharkhand till South coastal Karnataka across Vidarbha, Telangana and North interior Karnataka regions.
In wake of both the systems, warm and moist winds from Bay of Bengal are blowing over the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. These systems are expected to weaken and move in east directions in the next 24 hours.
However, until then many places of Andhra Pradesh as well as Telangana including the capital city of Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Adilabad, Medak, Najibabad, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Khammam, Kalimna pattinam as well as Visakhapatnam will experience spells of light to moderate rains with gusty winds that will blow with the speed of 20 to 30 kmph.

After 24 hours, once the system moves away, rain intensity will decrease over Telangana, but light rain will continue over Andhra Pradesh for another 48 hours.
Thereafter, temperature pattern would also undergo a change. As a result, minimums would significantly decrease. On the other hand, day maximums would continue to settle in the same range only. Meanwhile due to change in air mass, both the states will observe shallow fog and mist during early morning hours.
