The state of Telangana saw some moderate showers during the last 24 hours. These rains were attributed to a trough which was extending from East Uttar Pradesh to Karnataka across Telangana.

In fact, Monsoon remained active in the last 24 hours in parts of the state. Meanwhile, the capital city Hyderabad remained dry. In wake of these rains, the temperatures have dropped over some parts of the state.

In the last 24 hours from 8: 30 am on Thursday, Medak recorded heavy rain to the tune of 67 mm, Hanamkonda 16.2 mm of rain and Ramagundam 5.2 mm of rains.

As per Skymet Weather, we expect light to moderate rains to continue over the state for another 24 hours. Places like Ramagundam, Madek, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, and Adilabad are likely to witness light to moderate spells. This time, Hyderabad may also receive one or two spells of Monsoon rain.

After 24 hours, the rain intensity is likely to reduce over the state. However, light rains cannot be ruled out at a few places. Therefore, the temperatures are expected to increase after 24 hours. It is anticipated that Monsoon will become active once again around June 26. A cyclonic circulation is expected to form along the Andhra Pradesh coast. This system is expected to move in a westerly direction leading to increase in rains in Telangana also.
