Intense heatwave conditions in Telangana had brought life to a halt.
Schools were given an early summer break, and office timings were also changed.
Scores of lives were lost as rain gods continued to give Telangana a miss.
The capital city of Telangana, Hyderabad recorded the highest maximum temperature on April 14.
The city sizzled at 43 degree Celsius, which happens to be the highest in 43 years’ time.
While no relief seemed to have been in sight, rain gods finally decide to give Hyderabad what it had been craving for.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Hyderabad Airport recorded a good 9 mm of rain. However, these rains have resulted in the drop of maximums only by a notch.
A blanket of dark clouds covered Hyderabad giving hopes to the people reeling under intense heatwave conditions. Soon, good showers lashed the city of Charminar, and the residents of the Biryani city heaved that much-needed sigh of relief.
Residents of parched Hyderabad took to Twitter to welcome the much-awaited rains in the city.
