Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have been recording on and off Monsoon rains since the onset of Southwest Monsoon. In fact, during the last 24 hours, Telangana received good rainfall activity as Monsoon remained active over the state. Many places over Telangana recorded moderate to heavy rains with few very heavy spells. But light scattered rains occurred over Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Nalgonda recorded 75 mm of rain, followed by Khammam 53 mm, Ramagundam 27.4, Adilabad 19 mm, mm, Nizamabad 16.3 mm, Hanamkonda 15.4 mm, Medak 8 mm. Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, Vishakhapatnam recorded 0.2 mm of rain.
Talking about the capital city, Hyderabad recorded heavy rains to the tune of 64 mm.
These rains have been attributed to the trough extending along the East Coast in surface level and an east-west wind shear that is running roughly 20 degrees north between 3.1 km and 7.6 km.
As per Skymet Weather, further rainfall is expected to increase over northern parts of Telangana and North Andhra Pradesh Coast during next 24 hours. Meanwhile, light rains are expected to continue over Rayalaseema and South Andhra Pradesh Coast.
Along with this, moderate winds are also expected to prevail over the region. Mainly cloudy sky and drop in temperatures is expected. Moreover, rainfall will continue over the area for the coming two to three days.
