The northern and eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh along with parts of Chhattisgarh received light to moderate rain and thundershowers at some places during the last 24 hours. In fact, Pachmarhi in Madhya Pradesh recorded heavy rain to the tune of 45 mm.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Hoshangabad recorded 13 mm of rain, followed by Chhindwara 11 mm, Seoni 10 mm, Rajnandgaon 9 mm and Jabalpur 1 mm.
An upper air trough is persisting and extending from North Rajasthan up to Jharkhand across the northern parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. This system will be persisting for another 24 to 36 hours.
Therefore, light to moderate rain and thundershowers at some places associated with strong surface winds and hailstorm at will affect over parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during the next 24 to 36 hours.
Even though these rains might be beneficial for the Rabi Crops, but the crops which are at ripe position might suffer the damage as strong winds and hailstorm are very dangerous for such crops.
After 24 to 36 hours, the weather conditions are likely to improve over Madhya Pradesh as the above weather system will be weakening and moving eastwards.
In Madhya Pradesh places like Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Satna, Pachmarhi, Hoshangabad, Jabalpur, Rewa and Sidhi will witness light to moderate rains.
Few spells of rain and thundershower with strong winds and hailstorm are expected over Balod, Baloda Bazar, Balrampur, Bastar, Bemetara, Bijapur, Bilaspur, Dakshin Bastar Dantewada, Dhamtari, Durg, Gariabandh, Janjgir - Champa, Jashpur, Kabeerdham, Kondagaon, Korba, Koriya, Mahasamund, Mungeli, Narayanpur, Raigarh, Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Sukma, Surajpur, Surguja, Uttar and Bastar Kanker the districts of Chhattisgarh during next 36 hours.
