Rain in Gujarat may continue as circulation develops in close proximity

The state of Gujarat after witnessing weak Monsoon conditions saw rains reviving over the state during the last two to three days. In fact, the city of Ahmedabad even witnessed heavy showers a day or two ago resulting in good weather conditions.

Now, also, rains had remained between light to moderate over many parts of Gujarat in the past 24 hours or so. Due to these rains, temperatures have also taken a dip in many parts.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Saturday, Ahmedabad recorded 0.7 mm of rain, Bhavnagar 8 mm, Amreli 1 mm, Vadodara 0.8 mm, Bhuj 19.9 mm, Deesa and Dwarka 14 mm, Idar 1.6 mm, Kandla 14.4 mm, Naliya 9 mm, Okha 17.8 mm, Porbandar 6. 2mm, Rajkot 14 mm and Veraval 14.6 mm.

At present, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over South Coastal Gujarat region at mid tropospheric levels. Hence, the sky conditions are expected to remain cloudy. In fact, light to moderate rains will be continuing over the state. The areas of Saurashtra and Kutch will also experience rain and thundershower activities.

These weather conditions are expected to continue during the next 36 to 48 hours. Thereafter, rains may take a backseat over the state.
