Delhi rains have remained far and few for the past few days. So much so that the national capital has been witnessing cold and dry weather conditions. The Western Disturbances and their induced circulations during the last few days have only given good rains and snowfall over the hills of North India.
However, rains have finally made an appearance over Delhi and the NCR region and several parts of the city received some good rains during the last 24 hours. Areas including Gurugram, Hauz Khas Village, RK Puram, Anand Vihar and parts of West Delhi witnessed rains last night.

Not only this, several parts of North India including Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana also witnessed some good showers during the evening and night hours.
These weather conditions can be attributed to the presence of a Western Disturbance, presently over Jammu and Kashmir. Under its influence, an induced cyclonic circulation is over North Pakistan and adjoining Punjab and North Rajasthan.
Delhi and the NCR region is presently witnessing cloudy weather conditions. Not only this, light rainfall is expected today as well. In fact, the possibility of rainfall during the Republic Day celebrations in Central Delhi cannot be ruled out.
The 68th Republic Day is all set to be celebrated by pomp and show. The crown prince of Abu Dhabi has been invited as the chief guest. Rain gods may play some spoilsport during the parade for some time.
