The blistering days in the national capital has finally come to an end, as the rain gods have bestowed their blessings over Delhi and NCR region. Rain and thundershowers with pleasant breeze was observed over the city today. We can say that the weather conditions have almost taken a U-turn from scorching heat to pleasant rainy spell. This has abated heatwave conditions from the region.

Today morning, Delhiites woke up to some short spell of showers that brought that much needed relief they were eagerly waiting for. It was on June 4, that the national capital recorded maximum temperature of 47°C. It was the hottest day of the season, highest temperature recorded so far this year.

Yesterday morning as well, some dust storm activity was observed in few parts. These weather conditions have made the temperatures to fall and settle below 40-degree mark.

These weather activities can be attributed to the change in wind pattern. Now, easterly winds are prevailing over the region. Besides this, a Western Disturbance is seen over Jammu and Kashmir. Also, its induced cyclonic circulation is over Punjab and adjoining Pakistan.

Thus, Delhi and its adjoining areas like Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram have strong possibilities to continue with these rains and dust storm. These pre-Monsoon activities are predicted to continue for the next 24 hours.
