Rain in Delhi expected on Wednesday, temperature remains under check

April 14, 2014 1:18 PM |

Another spell of cloudy and rainy weather is expected in the national capital from Wednesday. According to the latest weather update, there are chances of good rain at some places in the city between 16th and 19th April. A cyclonic circulation that is expected to pop up over west Rajasthan will push the clouds in a east-northeast direction to cause rain in Delhi during the period.

Earlier on Sunday evening, similar clouds reached Delhi due to a cyclonic circulation over Haryana and gave some rain in parts of Delhi. The Safdarjung Observatory recorded 0.7 mm of rain yesterday. According to Skymet Meteorology Division, the pleasant weather will continue to prevail for four to five days at least, starting from Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday will comparatively be warmer as clear sky will allow heating of the surface.

After recording 37.2°C on Saturday, the day temperature took a nose dive and dropped four notches on Sunday to record 33.2°C. Skymet Meteorology Division expects the maximum temperature to drop again on Tuesday but not before it climbs to around 35 °C on Monday.

On the other hand, night temperatures in Delhi have been settling in the early twenties for the last couple of days. After recording a high of 24°C on Sunday morning, Skymet Meteorology Division in India expects minimum temperatures to remain in the lower twenties as heat will not radiate under partly cloudy to cloudy sky, likely to be observed from Wednesday onwards.
