The state of Tamil Nadu has been witnessing good rainfall activities for quite a long time now. Moreover, Cyclonic Storm Titli had given heavy rains in many parts of Tamil Nadu last week. While the storm has now moved away and fizzled out, a system is over the coastal parts of Tamil Nadu which has been giving rainfall over these areas.
The last 24 hours have been rainy enough for the state of Tamil Nadu with a few parts recording heavy rainfall activity as well. Moreover, almost the entire state has seen some rainfall activity.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Kodaikanal recorded 33 mm of rains, Tiruapttur saw 17 mm of rains, Coimbatore 32 mm, Dharmapuri 12 mm, Paramathy 9 mm, Salem 4 mm, Coonoor 6 mm, and Ooty 11 mm.
A trough is extending from South Odisha to South Tamil Nadu. A Cyclonic Circulation is presently over South Interior Tamil Nadu.
Due to these weather systems, rains are likely to continue over the state with some parts seeing heavier showers than the rest. Moreover, Coimbatore, Madurai, Salem, Niligiri, Kodaikanal, Ooty, Coonoor are expected to see moderate showers with one or two heavy spells of rains.
On the other hand, Chennai is also expected to witness some rainfall activity. Rains are expected to continue for some time.
