Rains have mostly remained absent from both the states of Bihar as well as Jharkhand. So much so that, weather has remained dry for a long time which is the case at present as well. Winter weather has started to take a backseat with temperatures not remaining as low as they were previously.

However, rains are all set to make an appearance over the states of Bihar and Jharkhand starting today.

The reason for these upcoming rains will be attributed to the formation of a Confluence Zone over Central India which has shifted eastwards towards the North Bengal region.

Therefore, rainfall and thundershower activities will begin over both Bihar and Jharkhand today. Intensity of these rains is likely to witness an increase by tomorrow and remain on the higher side until February 27.

These intense rains will be accompanied with thundershowers, strong winds as well as lightning strikes in the coming days. In fact, the possibility of hailstorm in some areas also cannot be ruled out.

Talking about Jharkhand, cities of Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Dhanbad as well as Hazaribagh, will see rains. On the other hand, cities of Bihar including Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Aurangabad as well as Purnea and Kishanganj will be the ones seeing some rainfall during this period.
