After witnessing dry weather for a month or so, the state of Gujarat is all set to witness a rainy spell. These rains will first make an appearance in the form of isolated light showers over Saurashtra and Kutch region and gradually will spread onto southern areas, beginning from March 3 and continuing until March 4.
According to Skymet Weather, these rains will be a result of a Western Disturbance which will develop over the Western Himalayas on March 2. This system will induce a Cyclonic Circulation over South Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan. In addition to these systems, a Trough will also extend up to South Gujarat.
In combination of all the above systems, we expect scattered light rains to commence over Bhuj, Naliya, Kandla, Deesa, Vasant Kanta, Mehsana and Patan on March 3.
Several other places like Porbandar and Amreli will receive isolated light to very light rains on March 4. Moreover, these rains will prove to be very beneficial for soil moisture restoration, that allows crops to grow and nurture at a faster rate.
March 5 onward, the weather systems will move away in east directions and weather will start clearing up over Gujarat.
Meanwhile, in wake of all these activities, the minimum temperatures are expected to rise by 2℃ to 3℃. However, once the weather finds a clearance, these will fall by 2℃ to 3℃.
