Rain in Bhuj, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Indore, Ujjain to reduce

As of now the seasonal rainfall over Madhya Pradesh is surplus by 7% whereas, East Madhya Pradesh is deficient by 12% and West Madhya Pradesh is surplus by 25%.

The state of Gujarat has also received good rainfall activity but is still deficient by 60%. However, Rajasthan has picked up excess rainfall in both parts of the state. West Rajasthan is surplus by 48% and East Rajasthan by 62%.

During the last 48 hours, good rainfall activity over observed over Rajasthan, Gujarat and North Madhya Pradesh. In fact, Monsoon remained active over most parts of Rajasthan, Kutch, and many parts of Madhya Pradesh. Rajasthan also received moderate rainfall at many places along with few places of Kutch and Madhya Pradesh.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Rajkot recorded 83 mm of rain, followed by Mount Abu 73 mm, Barmer 45 mm, Deesa 34 mm, Sagar 32 mm, Phalodi 30 mm, Bhopal and Ujjain 29 mm.

Currently, the axis of Monsoon trough is likely to shift towards north off its latest position which was moving across Jaisalmer, Kota, Tikamgarh.

As a result, we would see significant drop in rainfall activity over most places of Kutch, Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh.

Southern parts of Gujarat, East Madhya Pradesh and northeast parts of Rajasthan may receive light to moderate rains during next 24 hours. Isolated rainfall activity is also expected over northern parts of Madhya Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan and Kutch region may witness a rise in day temperatures.
