In a span of 24 hours; Puri recorded heavy showers to the tune of 138 mm, followed by Angul 67 mm, Bhubaneswar 64 mm, Sambalpur 50 mm, Kakinada 46 mm, Gopalpur 43 mm, Pulbani 36 mm, Vijayawada 24 mm and Ramagundam 26 mm.
As per Skymet Weather; an east-west trough is extending from Northwest Rajasthan up to Coastal Odisha. With this, we are expecting moderate showers along with one or two heavy spells to persist over Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the next 24 hours.
Thereafter, this trough is likely to become feeble, that would lead to significant reduction in rainfall. However; Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Coastal Odisha would continue to witness scattered light to moderate showers; while Telangana is expected to see similar intensity of rains but at one or two places only.
Day temperatures would remain comfortable for the subsequent 24 to 48 hours. The maximum temperature over many parts of Odisha would settle below the 30 degree mark; whereas the maximums are most likely to remain in lower 30s over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
After the span of 24 hours; we expect rise in day temperatures by three to four degrees Celsius, nevertheless the weather will not go completely dry and partly cloudy to cloudy sky will persist along with on and off spot showers.
Weatherman predicts Rayalaseema to continue with dry weather conditions for now.
