The states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have witnessed light to moderate rains during the last 24 hours. On the other hand, the state of Telangana has remained dry.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Bengaluru recorded a good 16 mm of rains, Arogyavaram saw 18 mm of rainfall, Mysuru 10 mm, Anantapur 5 mm, Kalingapatnam 9 mm, and Visakhapatnam 1 mm.
A cyclonic circulation is over Rayalaseema and adjoining South Interior Karnataka. Moreover, another cyclonic circulation is persisting over West Central Bay of Bengal. This system is tilting southwestwards as height extends.
Due to the presence of these systems, light to moderate rains are expected at many places with heavy showers over a few areas of Rayalaseema, eastern parts of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh as well as Telangana.
Cities of Kurnool, Anantapur, Chitradurga, Raichur, Gulbarga, Mahbubnagar may see moderate to heavy rains. Rest of these areas will see light to moderate rains only.
Talking about the capital cities of Telangana and Karnataka, i.e., Hyderabad and Bengaluru will also see light to moderate rainfall activities during the same time frame. Thus, the southern parts of the country which had remained dry for quite some time will finally see some good rains in the coming days.
