In the last 24 hours, dry weather conditions prevailed over most parts of Northeast India, barring few pockets of Assam. Isolated thunderclouds also occurred over few extreme western parts of Assam. In fact, moderate fog was also recorded over many places during the early morning hours.
At present, a cyclonic circulation persists over Assam and adjoining Meghalaya region. This system is likely to further move northeastwards and extend up to 3.1 km above sea level.
Due to this system, clouding is gradually increasing over the region and we expect rain and thundershower activities to occur over many places in Northeast India. Intensity will be moderate with few heavy with strong gusty wind.
Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura will witness scattered light rainfall activity. Along with these rains, we also expect hailstorm activity to occur over some places of Arunachal Pradesh, East Assam and few places of North Nagaland.
These weather activities will decrease after 24 hours over the northeastern states. However, light rain and thundershowers will still continue for another 48 hours.
Fog will occur during early morning hours over some places. Day temperatures will drop, and night temperatures will increase in Northeast India.
