In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Friday, Amritsar recorded light rain to the tune of 0.6 mm. In the similar time frame, Ambala, Ludhiana, and Churu recorded traces of rain. These rains can be attributed to a Western Disturbance which is prevailing over the Western Himalayas and its induced cyclonic circulation over Northwest Rajasthan.

As per Skymet Weather, short spells of rain and thundershower are likely over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, adjoining West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan. In fact, hailstorm may also occur in some parts of northwestern plains today.

It is expected that the day temperatures will drop but will continue to settle above normal. However, some relief is anticipated from the warm weather. The sky conditions are likely to remain cloudy. In fact, after 24 hours, the minimum temperatures would drop by 2°C to 3°C.

As per weathermen, some parts of Punjab, North Haryana, and Northwest Uttar Pradesh may continue to witness light weather activity tomorrow as well. Thereafter, the weather will become dry one again.
