Rain has eluded Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand for a long time. Since December 14 there hasn’t been any rain in the region. However, a fresh Western Disturbance has approached the hills of North India which will bring about a change in the weather conditions of East India.

According to senior meteorologists, the Western Disturbance is going to induce a Cyclonic Circulation over North Rajasthan. A trough is also expected to form and extend up to East Uttar Pradesh.

In the wake of these systems, several parts of Uttar Pradesh like Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Agra will observe some kind of rainfall activity on January 1. This activity is likely to extend for the next 2-3 days in the entire state.

On the other hand, a confluence zone will develop in Telangana and extend up to East Uttar Pradesh across Chhattisgarh. This system will lead to rain in Bihar and neighbouring Jharkhand between January 1 and January 3.

Isolated pockets of East Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand may experience hailstorm activity. Therefore it is advised that farmers of the region take necessary precaution.

Meanwhile, the night temperature would increase in the region by 3-4 degrees which would be a huge relief for the people experiencing cold conditions. The day temperature will also rise marginally.
