The state of Uttar Pradesh has been experiencing dry weather for the past three to four days. The morning and nights are cold with moderate to a dense layer of fog followed by cool and pleasant days and bright sunshine. However, the weather models are suggesting a change in the present conditions.

At present, the Western Disturbance is over the northern parts of Afghanistan and adjoining parts of Pakistan. Its induced Cyclonic Circulation is over the central parts of Pakistan. Both the systems are moving in east/northeast direction, indicating chances of rain in West Uttar Pradesh after next 24 hours.

Light rain and thundershower activities coupled with isolated hailstorm are likely in West and Northwest Uttar Pradesh on January 13.

Places like Sarhanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Hapur, Meerut, Bijnor, Moradabad, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Ghaziabad etc may experience rain and hailstorm activities.

For the next 24 hours, the night temperatures may increase by two to four degrees Celcius, while day temperature may drop significantly due to increased cloud cover.

Contrary to this, the weather in East and Central Uttar Pradesh will remain mostly dry with partly cloudy sky conditions. During early morning hours, moderate to dense fog may appear in Gorakhpur, Faizabad, Gonda, Varanasi and Azamgarh. The day will be pleasant and cool followed by cold nights. The minimums are expected to settle below normal for the next few days.
