Ahmadabad continues to witness pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers during the last 24 hours, bringing in some relief from hot weather conditions. Not only this, few parts of the city have also recorded hailstorm.
At present also, cloudy weather is prevailing over most parts of the state. According to Skymet Weather, these pre-Monsoon activities are most likely to persist over the city during the next 24 hours, disappearing thereafter.
As per weathermen, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over Southwest Rajasthan and adjoining south Pakistan region. A trough is also seen extending from this system up to Saurashtra and Kutch. This will bring scattered rain and thunderstorm activities are expected over the region.
In the span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Ahmedabad witnessed short spells of rains to the tune of 2.2 mm.
The maximums that were touching the sky and settling above the 45-degree mark has already witnessed a drop. On Monday, Ahmedabad recorded day maximum at 41.1C. However, with rains taking back seat, mercury will now once again start increasing Wednesday onwards,.
Gujarat was reeling under prolonged dry and hot weather conditions lasting for over a month now and this was all due to the absence of any significant weather system. However, to break this monotonous extended dry spell, few pre-Monsoon showers lashed parts of the state including Ahmedabad in last 48 hours.
