The states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have been witnessing dry weather conditions since the last many days. In fact, warm weather was prevailing over the southern parts of both these states. Meanwhile, the northern parts were observing comfortable weather conditions.
Similarly, during the night hours, the northern parts were cool and southern were pleasant and comfortable. These are also the seasonal weather conditions of Central India.
Now during the next 48 hours, we expect similar weather to prevail over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. However, due to presence of an upper air trough running from Chhattisgarh to Karnataka, central parts of Chhattisgarh may witness short spell of rain and thundershowers over isolated places.
On March 13 and 14, due to strengthening of the above-mentioned trough, northern parts of both these states will observe rain and thundershowers with gusty winds.
Thereafter, right after a short break, between March 16 and 18, second spell of rain and thundershowers will affect over Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. During this period, as the weather systems will be much stronger, rainfall intensity will also be more.
The northeastern parts of these states will observe spell of moderate rain and thundershower with hailstorm and strong winds. These intense weather activities may even damage crops in MP and Chhattisgarh.
