In fact, the city of Nizams recorded rainy spells to the tune of 13 mm on both, April 1 and 2. All thanks to the north-south trough that extended from Chhattisgarh up to Interior Tamil Nadu across Telangana.

These rains were accompanied by hailstorm activities over isolated places. Although these showers have brought relief from scorching heat but these activities have resulted in crop damage in several districts of Telangana.

Talking about the rain statistics of March, the city remained mostly dry. However, there were few instances when some traces of rainfall were observed, otherwise arid and humid conditions persisted all through the month.

The monthly average rainfall of April for Hyderabad stands at 21.7 mm and so far, the city has recorded 25.4 mm of rainfall. It is evident the city has surpassed its monthly mean rainfall.
