During the last 24 hours, the southern parts of East Madhya Pradesh have been receiving moderate amount of rain. For instance, Seoni in the last 24 hours has received 17 mm of rain while Chindwada observed 8 mm of rain. Betul and Malanjkhand received 2 mm of rain each.
Due to an anti-cyclone in the Bay of Bengal southeasterly, humid winds are merging with northerly cold and dry winds and forming a confluence zone over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh due to which the rainfall activities are taking place in the region.
In fact, we expect many parts of East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to observe good rain for the next 24-48 hours due to the same weather system (Confluence Zone). Chances of isolated heavy rain and hailstorm can not be ruled out either.
This weather activity is likely to continue until February 6. Though on and of rain will be observed until Feb 10. The weather in West Madhya Pradesh will remain dry.
The minimum temperature of East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will remain above normal due to southeasterly humid winds and cloud cover. But the day temperature will subside due to rain.
This winter East Madhya Pradesh has largely been affected by unseasonal rain due to regular formation of confluence zone.
