Dust and thunderstorm with chances of rain and strong winds are likely to keep the weather in Delhi less hot and comfortable during next 48 hours. According to the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the weather system, a tropical storm in the Arabian Sea will continue to send moist winds towards Delhi causing dust storm or thundery activities in different parts of the capital during evening or night hours. Winds during the storm could blow at an average of 50 kmph.
With this the hottest and driest spell in Delhi has disappeared for at least two to three days. After falling by about two notches on Wednesday and recording 43.6°C, day temperatures could further drop on Thursday and then on Friday to remain in early forties. Minimum temperature in Delhi that recorded 30.5°C on Thursday will drop by a couple of notches to stay close to 28°C for the next two days.
An extended forecast indicates that at the start of next week, hot spell could again return to the capital. It says that once the weather system in the Arabian Sea moves northwestwards and away from India, winds in Delhi will change to blow from west and northwest direction. This will again push the day temperatures up and mid-forties could be again return to hunt residents.
