Rain deficient Uttar Pradesh to witness a spell of good rainfall

Between June 1 and August 16 country is rain surplus by 10%. Despite 10% surplus rainfall Uttar Pradesh is still rain deficient by 45%. Uttar Pradesh is deficient by 47% and West Uttar Pradesh by 40%. Uttar Pradesh is one of the major wheat and paddy growing state. The impact of deficient rainfall is being witnessed across the farming community.

There may be scattered rainfall over the Eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh on August 18th. Places like Gorakhpur, Gazipur, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi and Sultanpur may receive light rain with one or two moderate spells. Between August 20 and 22nd many districts of Uttar Pradesh received good rain and thundershowers. Districts such as Lucknow, Unnao, Kanpur, Raebareli, Fatehpur, Chitrakoot, Hamirpur, Barabanki and Hardoi may receive moderate showers.

Rain activities may start decreasing once again after August 22nd, but isolated light rain may continue. These upcoming rains will be a boost for forming community. Crops in oval receive much needed rain. Moreover, there will be a relief from sultry weather condition.
