The rain belt over northwest plains and adjoining parts of Central India is likely to shift eastward during the next 48 hours. With this rain will reduce in Delhi and other parts of Punjab, Haryana (excluding western part), Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh (excluding eastern part) and west Uttar Pradesh in the next 24 hours. However, central and east Uttar Pradesh, northeast Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, north Odisha and north Chhattisgarh will witness rain during the period. From East India, the weather system will gradually shift towards Northeast India and cause rain in these parts after this period.

Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Patna, Ranchi and Kolkata are likely to observe cloudy weather with chances of rain duringthis period. According to our forecast, the cyclonic circulation that emerged in the Arabian Sea off Saurashtra coast has moved northeastward to be placed southeast of Delhi at around noon today and is likely to move eastward thus shifting the rain belt. The Western Disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir will also move eastward during this period.

Due to a trough extending from southeast Gujarat to North India, rain is lekly to occur in Mumbai and some parts of Gujarat. Another trough (region of intensified moist winds) that would extend from East India to Andhra Pradesh will bring some rain at a few places in the state currently facing political strife due to Telangana bifurcation issue.

Day temperatures in some parts of Andhra Pradesh may fall marginally due cloud and rain. However, temperatures will continue to remain near normal in rest parts of southern Peninsula i.e Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. Some medium levels clouds may be witnessed  in the region but that would not have any impact on the temperatures.
