Parts of East Uttar Pradesh has failed to record much showers during the month of May and due to this, the maximums peaked up settling close to 45-degrees at a few occasions. The state capital, Lucknow has also remained dry apart from witnessing a few traces at a few occasions.
However, after making Delhi weather pleasant, dust storm with squally winds are expected to appear in East Uttar Pradesh as well. In fact, light rains are occurring in Lucknow and Kanpur at present as well.
As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is seen over the central parts of Uttar Pradesh and a trough is also seen extending from this system towards Arunachal Pradesh.
In the wake of this, light to moderate rain and thundershowers with squally winds are likely to affect the foothills of Uttar Pradesh. The weather across the East India districts like Gorakhpur, Siddharth Nagar, Balrampur, Maharajganj, Azamgarh, Bahraich, Rampur, Bareilly and Pilibhit may witness Duststorm and thundershower with strong surface wind during the late afternoon or evening hours today.
Moist winds are also likely to prevail over the region. On account of this, though the maximums may drop and settle close to 35°C but excess humidity will bother the residents. Lucknow is at present witnessing overcast sky followed by dust storm, thunderstorm and light rains. However, these rains in the state capital is likely to prevail for a short duration only.
The weather across other parts of East India is likely to prevail for the day and temperatures may rise marginally in next 24 hours.
