Rain in HimachalA fresh Western Disturbance is approaching North India and will start affecting the region in next 24 hours. The weather system is currently stationed over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir region and is moving in east direction.

At present, all the hilly states have been observing partly cloudy to cloudy sky, with few chances of isolated Monsoon showers.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the approaching weather system is expected to bring scattered light to moderate rain over the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during next 24 to 48 hours.

Meanwhile plains of North India will not be affected much, barring parts of North Punjab that may receive scattered light rain in next 24 hours.

Despite entire North India witnessing cloudy weather, maximum temperatures have been settling above normal. However with the fresh Western Disturbance, these temperatures are expected to ease down a bit and crawl back to the normal.

This year, frequency of Western Disturbance is more as compared to previous years. Successive systems have kept Monsoon current active over the hilly region.
