West Rajasthan has received light showers in the past 24hr. Only trace of rainfall was recorded at Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Barmer. More rainfall with increased intensity and spread is likely today. Remnant effect may be seen at isolated places tomorrow.
Day temperatures have been rising over the state for the last couple of days. Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner and Phalodi are nearing 40 degree Celsius. Persistent clouds accompanied with showers and strong winds will suppress any further rise today and tomorrow.
A cyclonic circulation is marked over southwest Rajasthan in the lower levels. The system is drawing moist winds from the Arabian Sea. Cloudy sky with few spells of rain and thunderstorm, possibly accompanied with gusty winds are likely today in the evening hours. Cities like Jaisalmer, Barmer, Phalodi, Jodhpur and Bikaner are expected to have thunderstorm with squally winds. Cyclonic circulation will move eastward and weaken too. Remnant effect will result isolated weather activity tomorrow and a break thereafter.
Another weather system is heading for the state around the weekend. That system will last longer between 15th and 20th April. Mostly, the northern and western parts will have the weather activity in terms of rain and thundershowers during that period.
