The neighbouring states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have been experiencing light rainfall lately. These rains have majorly covered East MP and adjoining Chhattisgarh while the other parts of the states have remained mostly dry.
Meteorologists at Skymet have predicted more rains in the duo states during next two to three days. A North-South Trough is expected to extend from East Uttar Pradesh to South Chhattisgarh. Moreover, a Confluence Zone is likely to develop over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, wherein humid south-easterlies are going to merge with cool north-westerlies resulting in cloud formation and subsequent rainfall.
The combination of these two systems might result in light rain with one or two moderate spells in the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The intensity is expected to be more in parts of Chhattisgarh as compared to Madhya Pradesh this time.
These intermittent rain and thundershowers may continue until February 5. Thereafter, the weather activities may subside, however, isolated showers might continue in a few parts of these states for some more time.
Amidst rains, southeasterly humid winds from the Bay of Bengal may lead to above normal minimums in East MP and Chhattisgarh.
