Yesterday, maximum temperatures recorded in some parts of Uttar Pradesh were as follows: Agra 43.4, Aligarh 41.0, Allahabad 44.3, Bareilly 39.0, Kanpur 41.6, Lucknow 38.1, Meerut 40.1, Varanasi 40.6.
Now the winds have changed their direction and are blowing from southeast direction. Thus, the easterly and southeasterly winds have commenced over the state of Uttar Pradesh.
However, these humid and relatively cooler winds are responsible for slight drop in temperatures over many parts of the state, particularly over northern half of the state.
Furthermore, due to the humid winds from Bay of Bengal, the humidity level has increased. Clouds are starting to form which is expected to give scattered rain and thundershower over many parts of the state by tonight or early morning tomorrow.
Areas to be affected will be mostly over east and central parts of the state. Right from Lucknow, Kanpur to Allahabad. Western parts of the state are likely to observe dust storm and short spells of thundershowers.
As per Skymet, these on and off pre-Monsoon activities including dust storm and thunderstorm are expected to occur from April 28 to May 2, for short durations and mostly during the late and early hours of the day.
The temperatures are expected to remain below normal, so we can say relief is in sight from the ongoing dry and hot weather for the people of Uttar Pradesh.
