Skymet forecasts rains and isolated thundershower activities for entire Northwest India including the states of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR and West Uttar Pradesh. These rains are likely to affect the region during the next 48 hours, i.e. today and tomorrow. Rajasthan has already received scattered rain and thundershower activities during the last 24 hours, from 8:30 am on Thursday. Many areas in Delhi-NCR also reported light rain and thundershower activities this morning.
These on and off pre-Monsoon activities will especially affect during morning and late afternoon hours. Delhi may also receive dust storm activities associated with rain and thundershower in intervals.
Although, the upcoming rain and thundershower activities will not be fairly widespread, but several districts of Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan will observe these pre-Monsoon activities. However, the intensity over Delhi NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh will be light.
At present, a Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over Northwest Rajasthan and a Trough is extending up to Western parts of Uttar Pradesh. This means, ample moisture availability. Also, the temperatures are very high already. With such weather conditions, the pre-Monsoon activities become even more intense.
