Weather in Delhi remained cloudy yesterday. On Tuesday as well medium and high clouds were observed over many parts of Delhi and NCR are.
Now, a Cyclonic Circulation has formed over Rajasthan and a trough is also extending up to Southwest Uttar Pradesh. The trough is running South of Delhi. Therefore, we expect scattered rain and thundershower activities to occur over Delhi-NCR today. One or two short spells of intense rains cannot be ruled out. We also expect one or two hailstorm activities with gusty winds in parts of Delhi and its adjoining areas.
Rain and thundershower with strong gusty winds at some places will occur over Faridabad, Gurgaon, Jhajjar, Mewat, Rewari, Rohtak, Sonipat, Central, East, New Delhi, North, North East, North West, Shahdara, South, South East, South West, West Delhi, Baghpat, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, and Meerut of Delhi and NCR during next 2-3 hours
The weather activity in terms of rain will not be widespread. They will be patchy and for short duration.
The day temperatures have already dropped in the city. On Wednesday, there was a drop in maximum temperature due to cloud cover.
By afternoon of March 15, the weather will start clearing up over Delhi-NCR and bright sunshine can be witnessed. Due to Northerly cold winds, both day and night temperatures may fall marginally.
From March 16 onward, we expect gradual increase in day and night temperatures. By March 17 or 18, day temperatures of Delhi-NCR may touch the 30 degree mark. By March 21, on the day of Holi, we expect that day temperatures to cross 30 degrees. Also, there will be another Western Disturbance which may give isolated light rain close to Holi.
