A Deep Depression lies over East-central Arabian Sea and adjoining parts of Southeast Arabian sea. This system is likely to intensify more and move in West-Northwestward direction.

Due to the presence of this system warm and moist winds are likely to affect Konkan Coast and adjoining Madhya Maharashtra. Hence light to moderate rain will be experienced over these regions. These rains and strong winds are likely to come in affect between October 9 to 11.

Presently, north-easterly air mass is prevailing over Vidarbha and Marathwada region. Due to its dry nature it will induce warm and dry weather with few clouds over the region.

The day’s maximum temperatures are expected to remain between 34°C to 36° C and night temperature will remain in the range of 20°C to 22° C.

During the last 24 hours, mainly dry weather was recorded over the state. Sky conditions remained clear over the region. No significant rainfall activity was observed in any region over the entire state.

Southwest Monsoon 2018 has come to a halt with September ending. If we look at the rainfall figures, Maharashtra witnessed normal rains this year with rainfall deficiency of about 8%. However, ever since Monsoon departure, the state has been battling hot and dry weather conditions.
