After getting brief respite from the incessant weather activity, Hindu Shrine of Vaishno Devi is once again gearing up for another spell of rain and snow this weekend. Every year, thousands of pilgrims across the country visit the shrine defying all kinds of weather.
At present, the region is witnessing clear and dry weather conditions. All thanks to the clearance of the Western Disturbance from the Jammu and Kashmir region.
Similar weather conditions will continue till February 2. Thereafter, a fresh Western Disturbance will start affecting Jammu and Kashmir. In wake of this, sky will become cloudy to partly cloudy on February 3, with very few chances of light rains during the late evening or night hours.
Rains and thundershowers will pick up pace by February 4 and we can expect some good rainy spell on Saturday. By February 5 morning, snowfall will also start making an appearance over the shrine.
According to Skymet Weather, we can expect significant drop in the day temperatures, which in turn will make the weather chilly again. However, night temperatures will witness a rise.
Thus, pilgrims who are travelling to Vaishno Devi this weekend will have to brave the extreme weather conditions.
After being dry in November and December, January witnessed heavy to very heavy spells of rain and snow.
