A freshWestern Disturbancewill continue to keep the weather in western Himalayan region and adjoining northwest plains cloudy and rainy for the next two to three days. According to the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, a Western Disturbance is giving rain over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, while another weather system that lies over latitude 64° East and 30° North and is moving in a northeast direction could sustain the rain and clouds in the region.
Under the influence of these systems, higher reaches would continue to witness snow while the plains would observe rain. The intensity of rain in Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh is expected to increase on the 28th March.
These weather systems will also give rain in parts of Punjab and adjoining Haryana. Southern parts of northwest plains would be devoid of rain. Meanwhile, the latest weather update suggests that if the present Western Disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir merges with the upcoming WD, some more parts of northwest plains such as west Uttar Pradesh and Delhicould receive rain.
In East India, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will observe rain as a cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh would continue to feed moisture to these areas. Mixing of warm winds from west direction and moist winds from the Bay of Bengal would also continue to give rain in Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya in the Northeast.
In Central India, warm land winds that are coming from northwest direction will keep temperatures in mid-thirties. South Chhattisgarh, coastal Odisha in east central India and north Andhra Pradesh and Vidarbha in south central peninsula could also witness rain at some places as sea winds coming from the Bay of Bengal are colliding with warm land winds.
