Rain and snow likely over North Kashmir and Himachal, Vaishno Devi to remain dry

After a prolonged dry spell over the Western Himalayas, a fresh Western Disturbance will give light isolated rain and snow over the higher reaches of North Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand is likely to remain dry.

As per Skymet Weather, is it expected that weather over the remaining parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, as well as Uttarakhand, may become partly cloudy to cloudy. Also, it is anticipated that the maximum temperatures would fall, and a marginal increase is possible in the minimums.

As per weathermen, the weather across the popular hill stations such as Kullu, Manali, Shimla, Dharamsala, Nainital, Mussoorie and Srinagar would remain dry weather. However, the sky may become partly cloudy. The tourists hailing to the popular locales in the mid-reaches of hills to see snow will not get to see it as snowfall activity would remain confined to the higher reaches only.

In fact, weather in Vaishno Devi is also expected to remain dry but the sky may become partly cloudy to cloudy. However, the day temperatures would fall, and the minimum would rise in Katra and Vaishno Devi. The maximum temperatures in Katra would range around 18°C - 19°C and minimums will hover around 7°C - 8°C.

Meanwhile, the maximums in the Bhawan would settle around 15°C while minimums will range around 3°C - 4°C. With these temperatures, the weather is expected to remain cool and comfortable during the day, but the nights would be cold. The pilgrims are not likely to face any hindrance during the journey but with lower temperatures, they should carry extra woolens.
