Snowfall in kashmir hills

The hilly regions of North India haven’t recorded any significant rain and snowfall activity since the beginning of this year. Now, it is anticipated that the higher reaches would turn white once again in view of upcoming snowfall activity. Hence, tourists who want to enjoy the snowfall may head to the hill stations.

The weather activity could be attributed to a feeble Western Disturbance that is persisting over North Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining Pakistan as an upper air system.

As per Skymet Weather, the weather system is likely to affect Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. The higher reaches of the mentioned states may witness light rain and snow during the next 24 hours. The sky condition would remain mainly cloudy over the regions.

The minimum temperatures may rise over Jammu and Kashmir as well as Himachal Pradesh. The rise in temperatures would be around 2-3°C. It is expected that the persistent Western Disturbance will move away soon. On the other hand, slight drop in the maximum temperatures could be seen.

However, another fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayas by January 17. Meanwhile, the weather in Vaishno Devi will remain dry. The sky would be mainly partly cloudy to cloudy. Mornings would be chilly cold and the weather during the day will be cool.
