The hills of north India have been witnessing some good rain and snow for the past few days due to the presence of a western disturbance. In fact, the hills are in store for more such Western disturbances in the coming days which will result in even more rain and snow over the region.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Gulmarg recorded 55 mm of rain, Dharamsala 68 mm, Una 49 mm, Manali 15 mm, and Mandi 4 mm.
These rain and snowfall activities have caused enough damage with about 265 different roads being blocked in various parts of Himachal Pradesh. Snow was seen in Lahaul, Spiti, Shimla, Kullu and adjoining areas. Snowfall in Kashmir resulted in flight delays at the Srinagar Airport, however, the delay was more because of drop in visibility. Upper reaches of Uttarakhand have also seen snow.
Now, a couple of more Western Disturbances will result in more rain and snow.
