For at least next 24 – 48 hours, the intensity of weather activities will be more over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh between the nights of March 1 and 2. On March 2 and 3, Uttarakhand may also receive scattered light to moderate rain and snow activities with one or two heavy spells.  Isolated hailstorm activities are also possible over Uttarakhand.

The heavy snowfall may block Jammu- Srinagar highway for next 2 3 days, leading to disruption of essential supplies. Mudslides and landslides are also possible in many parts of these states. Fresh accumulation of snow may also lead to avalanches.

Therefore, the tourists as well as a local residents must take enough precautions against inclement weather conditions. There will be a significant drop in day temperatures as well.

At present many parts of these states are observing above normal temperatures which are soon expected to drop.  Initially, the minimums may rise but they will also come down by March 2 and 3.
