The upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir have been witnessing scattered rain and snow for the past few days. However, the weather across Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand remained dry. As per Skymet Weather, another Western Disturbance is expected to affect Jammu and Kashmir, around December 23.

In wake of this weather system, we expect light rain and snow activity over upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir on December 23. It is anticipated that intensity may increase on December 24. As per weathermen, isolated places of Himachal Pradesh may also receive rain and snow activities on December 24.
Meanwhile, weather across Uttarakhand may become partly cloudy during this time. Rain and snow will continue until December 24 and take a break thereafter. The weather is likely to clear up on the Christmas, December 25.

The tourists heading to Shimla, Manali, Nainital, Mussoorie, Dehradun, Rishikesh would experience cool weather during the day and cold nights. In fact places, places such as Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Lahaul and Spiti may receive snowfall during this period.
Rain and snow are not likely to hinder the travel of the devotees visiting Vaishno Devi Dham as the weather will remain dry with partly cloudy to cloudy sky conditions.
