A cyclonic circulation over East Madhya Pradesh and its adjoining area has given good amounts of rain in the state. Some places like Shivpuri, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Sheopur and Datia have observed hailstorm activity as well.
The system which has given rain and hailstorm in Central India originated in East Rajasthan and gradually moved in an eastward direction, covering East Madhya Pradesh. The effect of the system was felt in entire Madhya Pradesh, Southeast Uttar Pradesh and its adjoining areas in form of rain and hailstorm.
According to meteorologists at Skymet, when the clouds are thicker and they remain above the earth’s surface at zero degree Celsius temperature, there are high chances of hailstorm. Due to the low temperature, water droplets come together –while rain - and form into hail. As the droplets take shape of hail they become heavy due to which they are pulled down by the earth’s gravity.
Meanwhile, there are chances of more rain in the state in next 24 hours as the cyclonic circulation, responsible for the weather, has moved in an easterly direction over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Northeast Madhya Pradesh.
Due to this system there is possibility of hailstorm in the above mentioned areas. It is to be noted that March, April and October are the main months of hailstorm.
