Pre monsoon activities are going on over almost the entire country since last 2 to 3 days. Parts of Odisha, Jharkhand and isolated pockets of West Bengal have received good rain during last 24 to 48 hours. However, Bihar and Jharkhand as well as eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh have not witnessed any significant rainfall.
A trough is extending from northeast Rajasthan to West Bengal across Uttar Pradesh and South Bihar. Another trough is extending from south interior Karnataka to Gangetic West Bengal across Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. In the wake of these weather parameters, we expect rain to increase significantly over eastern parts of the country for next 2 days.
A cyclonic circulation is over southern parts of Assam, which will ensure the rain activities to intensify over many parts of northeastern countries as well. Isolated hailstorm activities cannot be ruled out over parts of Jharkhand, Odisha and Bihar. Weather will start clearing up from most parts of East India from evening of March 22nd but may continue over Northeast India. However, intensity of rain will decrease over Northeastern parts of the country by March 23rd.
This will be the first good Pre monsoon spell over East and Northeast India.
